Reviews for Clarion CZ200 In-Dash CD / MP3 / WMA / AAC Reciever with USB (Electronics) Bought this unit to replace an older Clarion (6yrs old) which over the last few years was having issues with CDs and very cold weather.
Discovered that the plug in was exactly the same as my older Clarion with the exception of the cell phone mute (older radio did not have this feature). Since we don't use or need the cell phone mute feature I was able to use the old plug (this saved me from cutting the wire harness adapter and soldering it to the new radio plug).
Unlike other reviews, I have no problem with FM radio, works fine in my area (which is 50+ miles from nearest station tower). Although for those who have had complaints about the tuner, according to Clarion's box there is a Local/Distance setting. This setting is not documented in the user manual and you will need to hunt by pressing buttons to find it in the menu. Most likely will need to be in FM mode in order to get to that menu.
Cd drive plays audio and MP3 data discs fine although there is a time lag when it "reads" the disc at power up. USB port is awesome, worked fine with a 1 gig thumb drive, will have to try a bigger drive.
Unit comes with a remote control (I can't figure out why you need a remote in a car but none the less it is there if you like).
The good...
FM plays well, CD drive plays Audio CDs PLUS MP3 and unprotected WMA files (does not play protected WMA files).
REAR USB input, Kudos! The USB port cable is about 2ft in length and is enough to fish under the dash to a easy place to get to. Since my vehicle requires a Din and a half dash adapter I simply cut a hole big enough for the USB port to fit into the half cubby below the radio. My thumb drive is hidden and out of the way from thieves but yet easy for me to remove. Shame that Clarion didn't make the connector mountable.
Reviews for Clarion CZ200 In-Dash CD / MP3 / WMA / AAC Reciever with USB (Electronics) The product looked very promising, particularly considering it was "Featured" on Crutchfield. However, I exchanged it for JVC Arsenal KD-AHD69 due to the following shortcommings:
1. iPOD CONTROL:
Crutchfield does mention this in their review that you can only control the iPod via the Clarion. That seemed fine with me, however the iPod controls on the Clarion turned out to be very poor due to the following:
(a) SCROLLING THROUGH LIST: If you have 1000s of songs and the one you want starts with one of the last few letters, you will be turning the dial on the Clarion for several minutes before you reach the song you want, because scrolling progresses alphabetically. This could have been avoided if you could turn the dial anti-clockwise and go in the reverse order... but NO.. you always start at alphabet "A" and the only way to reach "Z" is to pass all the other alphabets.
The JVC Arsenal KD-AHD69 I exchanged this for jumps forward by 10, 100, 1000 songs depending on the speed with which you turn the scroll wheel.
(b) If a unit does not allow for control via iPod, it needs to have satisfactory iPod control capability like "search", "on-the fly playlist creation" etc.
(c) I connected an in-compatible version of iPod and the unit goes into a perpetual loop to trying to read the device . The JVC unit I exchanged this for says "Cannot Play" within a few seconds.

Reviews for Clarion CZ200 In-Dash CD / MP3 / WMA / AAC Reciever with USB (Electronics) After installing the unit I noticed the reception was quite poor. At first, I thought it was a failure to connect the antenna lead behind the unit. After verifying that was not the case I kept trying to determine the cause with no results. Found online forums where other owners have the same issue.
The iPod controls are quite poor. It won't always read the iPod, and even when it does, it can take forever to scroll to the artist or song you want to hear. The scrolling progression with the dial is painfully slow.
The Menu functions are not intuitive and good luck getting the clock to stay on the display. If you press any button at all or change the volume the clock will no longer come back up. You have to push the "display" button to bring it back.

Reviews for Pioneer DEH-4200UB CD Receiver with OEL Display and USB iPod Control (Electronics) This is the best single din player I have come across. I used sony xplod series earlier and have also used kenwood but I realized when I used Pioneer that it is a class apart. I have 4X4 infinity reference speakers installed. 1st time I used my pioneer, I thought "Do I have a sub in my car that I dont know about". I mean, I could actually feel the real power of infinity without amp just by installing pioneer!!

Reviews for Pioneer DEH-4200UB CD Receiver with OEL Display and USB iPod Control (Electronics) I'd had enough of my Ram's stock stereo, so I bought this unit to upgrade it. The difference was immediate and dramatic even when driving the OEM speakers (which I have since replaced). Very good sound quality, tight iPod integration, the Aux and USB inputs up front are a godsend, and it looks really sweet.
Highly recommended with a few caveats:
1. The product picture gives the idea that there is some kind of electroluminescent thing happening behind the volume knob. This is misleading and I wish Amazon would do something about it. Still though, the clear plastic behind the volume knob *is* blue tinted and I like how it looks. I think if it was actually lit (like the picture implies), it would be a bit much.

Reviews for Pioneer DEH-4200UB CD Receiver with OEL Display and USB iPod Control (Electronics) I was replacing a 5 year old Pioneer head unit in my truck. For under $200 I don't know how you could ask for anything more. I have 6 speakers in the doors and a sub under the rear seat all run off of 2 amplifiers. When I plugged my iPod into this deck, I had never heard the music on it sound so good. I have used stereos where you plug into a 3.5mm jack from the iPod and there is a huge difference in sound when hooked up via USB. There is no distortion from the additional digital to analog conversions. The display on this unit is a little small, but it displays a lot of information. The control is a little clumsy at first, but after a while it seems intuitive. As another note, don't bother with the iPod cord from Pioneer. Just use the one you use to hook up to your computer. It works just fine.
